early release

The weather was absolutely amazing today, so when I picked the kids up from school at 12:45, I decided we needed to spend the rest of the day outside.
The big batch of blue eggs we picked up from the farm last week turned out to be a total flop.  Of the 28 eggs we put in the incubator, only 8 started growing.  So we swung by the Taylor farm today for fresh eggs.  Today we were lucky and wound up with 2 goose eggs, three duck eggs, and two dozen chicken eggs.  We now have a total of 38 eggs in three incubators.
Since we were in Taylor and looking for outdoor fun, we stopped by the big goose pond.  The geese were happy to see us.
We used to feed this unruly gaggle from the car, but now we're happy walking right up to the large and very loud birds.
During our drive home, we decided to have a pizza picnic at the duck pond near our house.
As soon as Ray got home from work, we rode our bikes down to the dam and enjoyed the last few moments of sunlight February first had to offer.
I am grateful for this day of abundance, beauty, sunshine and happiness.
