The Thanksgiving Box.
Revamped for Christmas.
I love it.
The kids and I got started on a special project that will last until Christmas. I didn't find it on Pinterest. I was flying by the seat of my pants on this one.
My thought was to paint a giant Christmas tree with 25 blank ornaments that we could decorate throughout the month of December. Kind of a progressive, Advent calendar type Christmas tree. I knew the kids would think it was cool if I presented them with an already painted, ready to decorate tree, but decided they'd like it even more if they made it themselves.
So I brought out the giant canvas and explained my plan. Carter was immediately overwhelmed and decided he'd stick to painting the ornaments and let Grace and I handle the tree. So we did.
The tree isn't exactly what I had in mind, but I like the way it turned out. Grace is absolutely fearless when it comes to creative projects, so I let her run with it and only jumped in when absolutely necessary.
I think it will be fun to paint one ornament each day of December, or more likely, a few ornaments every few days. The kids have already painted their first ornaments and have big plans for their next ornaments. I have a feeling that the ornaments will get more elaborate as we go along.
| Finally, my early blooming, but amazing, Amaryllises. |

The tree is a great idea! It will be great to put it up over the years & for the kids to make remember the sweet memories! That's what it's all about! :)
