 Last night our Elf on the Shelf finally made his first appearance.  The book arrived along with a note from Santa, but by the time we opened the book to read the story, the elf was already missing from the box!

 I quickly read the story while the kids stared at the untwisted red twisty ties that once held the little elf in place.  Once the story was finished, Grace exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, the elf is already loose in our house!"

Moments later, we found our elf, which we named Charlie, sitting on top of our entry way chandelier. 

The kids were thrilled with Charlie, but Grace was a little worried that he was sitting on top of a light bulb so she made us a reminder sign for the switch. 

Everyone in our house is very excited to see where Charlie will go next....
