Carter brought home is letter to Santa yesterday. I love that his letter is not a list of wants. Instead it says: Dear Santa, I'm so so excited about you coming! Love, Carter.
Makes my heart happy that Carter is excited about Santa, not just the stuff he brings. This picture is awesome!
Grace painted this Christmas tree painting yesterday after school. It's for her teacher.
While Grace was painting, I put the finishing touches on my latest wreath. This one is small but pretty.
Ryan and Bruce are getting big! We're taking the six chickens to the farm today, but holding on to the geese a bit longer.
In preparation for Tuesday night's hard freeze, I brought in all of my basil.
The freeze completely wiped out every single plant in my garden, so I picked the tomatoes while they were still green. I hate leaving them to freeze on the vine.
This was the first year with no pumpkins. Sad.
To keep our bumper crop of basil, I mixed it up in the blender with a bit of olive oil and froze it in ice cube trays. I've never tried this before but I couldn't stand the idea of our beautiful basil freezing and going to waste. This way I can pop out one tree of basil at a time.

OK, no fair to post the mozzarella basil tomato picture. now I have to go get some. I did get two tiny green tomatoes finally but I did forget to pick them. Not sure what shape they are in after two nights of 25 degrees. Wuv the geez. They are sturdy and yet fluffy...and loved Cart's picture of Santa flying. And you are way to organized to do the basil/ice cube tray thing :)
