the fort worth margarita ball

Saturday night Susan, Mindy and I hit the Fort Worth Margarita Ball. Last year we attended the Dallas Margarita Ball so we were all interested to see how the two would compare.  After attending both balls,  I have to say that the Fort Worth ball was to the Dallas Ball what Forth Worth is to Dallas - nice, but much smaller and not nearly as glitzy. 

This was my favorite pic of the night.  We were leaving the ball and the street was super windy. 

This is what I looked like when we left Susan's house.  I was going for an Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, Mad Men look but my sisters thought I looked like a princess which was also ok with me. 

I can sum up my look with one word; painful.  The shoes were obviously not comfortable but I was prepared for that, the dress was so very snug around the ribs that deep breaths were next to impossible,  and the hairstyle could have been used as a medieval torture device.  Maybe I have too much hair to wear up, or maybe the little diamond band was too snug, or maybe it was the spin pins, but I wound up taking my hair down shortly after dinner. 

Looking at the picture of Mindy and Susan, I realize the my white dress in the middle of my sisters would have made a nice pic.  We should have gotten someone to snap that for us.
